This year’s contest will feature competing service branches will be announced soon. \nThe teams utilize ingredients that can be found on their ships or in what they’d have in the field and supplement them with a small budget of items locally sourced. \nEach team is judged by a panel of celebrity and executive level chefs who choose the champion. \nCan the three-time defending champs from the Coast Guard make it FOUR? Find out Saturday\, May 23th! \nWe have another surprise for you. Meet this year’s Galley Wars host\, actor DB Sweeney. \n\n\nD.B. Sweeney most recent film is Francis Ford Coppola’s Megalopolis which also stars Adam Driver\, Dustin Hoffman\, Aubrey Plaza\, Nathalie Emanuel and Jon Voight. His many other critically acclaimed and popular films include Gardens of Stone\, Memphis Belle\, Fire in the Sky\, The Cutting Edge\, No Man’s Land\, Spawn\, Roommates and Eight Men Out (as Shoeless Joe Jackson). He played Dish Boggett in the landmark Lonesome Dove miniseries and the memorably oblivious Larry on Two and a Half Men. His other extensive credits include Sharp Objects\, Ice\, Criminal Minds\, 24\, CSI\, Crash\, Jericho\, House\, Harsh Realm\, and multi- Emmy Award winning projects Introducing Dorothy Dandridge and Miss Rose White. \n\n\nSweeney made his debut as screenwriter\, director and producer with Two Tickets to Paradise. DESCRIPTION:Adopt the Arts was co-founded by Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee and Grammy award-winning musician\, Matt Sorum (Guns N’ ROses\, Velvet Revolver\, Deadland Ritural\, Kings of Chaos) and founding board member Golden Globe and Emmy award-winning actor\, Jane Lynch\, in response to major cuts to the arts education budgets in LAUSD elementary schools. \nNearly 90% of California schools fail to meet state mandated arts education requirements. Music programs are constantly in danger of being cut from shrinking school budgets even though they’re proven to improve academics. \nThe Changels are Adopt the Arts’ honor choir\, and they’ll be on the LA Fleet Week main stage today.
