Ship tour lines are inside the EXPO footprint and are open to the public from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily from Friday\, May 23\, through Monday\, May 26. \n– Ship tour lines will close promptly. \n– The main event EXPO is located at 250 S. Harbor Blvd.\, San Pedro\, CA 90731 – directly adjacent to the Battleship IOWA. \n– Please wear closed-toed shoes. SUMMARY:Abrakadabra
DESCRIPTION:Well-known in southern California for its driving propulsive jazz/pop rhythms\, Abrakadabra boasts a library of 50+ original compositions\, as well as an extensive cover playlist.  Influenced by bands like Malo\, War\, El Chicano and Santana\, Abrakadabra is a high-energy\, versatile group fusing Island\, Latin\, Funk\, Reggae\, Pop and Rock\, and adding its own jazzy melodies and pop harmonies to create its unique musical signature. \nIn the ‘80s Abrakadabra was the house band at Hermosa Beach’s legendary Lighthouse\, consistently playing to sold-out crowds. \nThe group also performed extensively at county fairs and city-sponsored festivals\, as well as in the area’s popular bars and clubs on the LA jazz circuit with groups Los Lobos and Chicago. \nAfter the group disbanded in 1986\, they still occasionally played together and officially reformed in 2006 with some of their original members. They have been treating fans to sold-out performances in local clubs\, festivals\, street fairs\, winery concerts and at charity benefits. \nSilenced by the Covid pandemic\, in 2021 Abrakadabra shifted gears into a totally instrumental format with founding member Jon Coleman (guitar\, marimba\, vibraphone)\, John Rodgers (acoustic and electric bass) and Vince Brooks (drums\, percussion). \nAbrakadabra tears it up with its high energy driving percussion on favorites from Latin Jazz to Standards to Pop to wonderful originals that will have you up on your feet and partying with the band!

He spends every minute possible recording his work in the studio. Justin recently completed recording for his newly released album entitled “Wild and Free.” \n\n  \nKatie Nicole Dix was born in Bakersfield\, California. Her desire for being on stage began when she very young and is best known in her hometown playing the title roles and lead vocals in numerous musical theater productions\, contests\, and exhibitions.  \nKatie was introduced to country music by legendary singer Buck Owens. When he learned of her talent\, he showcased her regularly at his world-renowned Crystal Palace stage. This unique opportunity paved the way for her to be seen and heard on a larger scale. She was a vibrant\, wide-eyed\, impressive talent that Buck clearly observed had the “it” factor. One evening Buck prophetically announced to his audience\, “This is Katie Dix and you’re ‘gonna hear a lot more of her.” Buck’s mentoring\, influence\, and encouragement inspired Katie to strive for a full-time career in entertainment. Harbor Blvd.\, San Pedro\, CA 90731 – directly adjacent to the Battleship IOWA. \n– Please wear closed-toed shoes. DESCRIPTION:Come check out visiting Navy ships! \nA few need-to-know points regarding ship tours: \n– A new timed approach to ticketing is in development. Check back here for details as the event approaches. \n– Anyone wishing to tour an active duty ship will need to come to the main event EXPO to board a free ship tour shuttle. Ship tour lines are inside the EXPO footprint and are open to the public from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily from Friday\, May 23\, through Monday\, May 26. \n– Ship tour lines will close promptly. \n– The main event EXPO is located at 250 S. Harbor Blvd.\, San Pedro\, CA 90731 – directly adjacent to the Battleship IOWA. \n– Please wear closed-toed shoes. For your safety\, flip flops and high-heeled shoes are strongly discouraged. \nIMPORTANT: The only way to reach the ship tour location is by shuttle from the main event EXPO. There is no personal vehicle or pedestrian access to the ship tour area. \n_______________ \nNAVY SHIP TOUR SECURITY REQUIREMENTS\nALL ship tour guests 18 years and older must show a government-issued ID card before boarding an active US Navy ship \nRequirements for US Citizens\n– Acceptable IDs for US Citizens include a valid driver’s license\, passport\, or other government–issued photo identification\n– Paper copies or pictures of ID cards or passports are not accepted \nRequirements for Non-U.S. Citizens\n– Non-U.S. Citizens or anyone without legal permanent residence status must show a valid passport to board US Navy ships\n– Non-U.S. Citizens will be fingerprinted and photographed while passing through security screening prior to boarding a US Navy ship\n– Paper copies or pictures of ID cards or passports are not accepted \n_______________ \n  \nNOTE: Battleship IOWA tours are separate and may be purchased on site or in advance. Current enlisted military and veterans with proof of service are free of charge during Memorial Day weekend.
