Recently Myles got a cut on Ty Herndon’s new record as a songwriter. \nMyles’ songs are shaped from her many years as a nanny to a mother diagnosed with ALS. Recently\, Myles lost her close cousin to brain cancer\, not too long after their grandfather passed away from a brain tumor. \nMyles competed on season 22 of ‘The Voice’ on NBC\, where she received a four chair turn in four seconds singing her rendition of “Hallelujah.” Her views add to over 30 million for her performances on the show. Myles finished in the Top 3 of the competition. \nAfter her performance of Lady Gaga’s “Always Remember Us This Way” dedicated to her late cousin and grandfather\, the Glioblastoma Foundation named her the National Ambassador of the Foundation in February of 2023. DESCRIPTION:The Golden West Pops has been playing as a group since September 2003. It has performed mostly “Pops” band music with a wide variety of styles – from Ragtime to Rock with some show tunes\, patriotic music and show classics thrown in. \nGolden West Pops conducts rehearsals at the Costa Mesa Women’s Club\, and it draws approximately 40 volunteer musicians from across Southern California. While occupations and musical experiences vary among its members\, they all have a serious interest in providing a high quality performance for their audiences. \nMembers are engaged in diverse employment ranging from homemakers\, lawyers and engineers\, teachers\, medical professionals\, students\, business owners\, and retirees to name a few. All members share a common love of music and the wish to enhance their skills by playing many styles and venues. SUMMARY:Mini Therapy Horses
DESCRIPTION:Mini Therapy Horses was founded in 2008 by Victoria Nodiff-Netanel and is a recognized leader in equine assisted activities (EAA) therapy and equine assisted therapy (EAT) with miniature horses. \nMini Therapy Horses conducts regular visits at Shriners for Children Medical Center in Pasadena\, Ronald McDonald House in both Pasadena and Los Angeles\, the Department of Children and Family Services Juvenile Court\, UCLA Ronald Reagan Medical Center\, UCLA Santa Monica Hospital\, the Greater Los Angeles Veteran’s Hospital and L.A. Family Housing\, amongst others. Whether comforting children bedside after surgery as they come out of anesthesia or visiting with a veteran who just wants to sit quietly and share space with one of our horses\, the MTH team is there to bring a sense of calm\, comfort and happiness. \nAs members of the LA Mayor’s Crisis Response Team\, our highly trained teams offer resources and support to survivors of traumatic incidents city-wide. These little horse heroes have responded to tragedies like the mass shootings in San Bernardino\, Las Vegas and Thousand Oaks and also served as first-responders during the Woolsey Fire. \n​Mini Therapy Horses has proudly participated in the Rose Parade® in 2016\, 2018\, 2019\, 2020 and 2022. Our award winning program has been featured in numerous publications and television shows\, including The Kelly Clarkson Show\, California Live\, People Magazine and National Geographic’s\, This Book Is Cute: The Soft and Squishy Science and Culture of Awe. \n​MTH is proud to be a Guidestar Platinum certified organization as well as an Equus Guardian.

Tours are free and are offered on a first-come\, first-served basis. \n– Anyone wishing to tour an active duty ship will need to come to the main event EXPO to board a free ship tour shuttle. Ship tour lines are inside the EXPO footprint and are open daily from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm\, Friday-Monday\, May 26-29\, 2023. \n– Ship tour lines will close promptly at 3 pm. \n– The main event EXPO is located at 250 S. Harbor Blvd.\, San Pedro\, CA 90731 – directly adjacent to the Battleship IOWA. \n– Please wear closed-toed shoes. For your safety\, flip flops and high-heeled shoes are strongly discouraged. \nIMPORTANT: The only way to reach the ship tour location is by shuttle from the main event EXPO. There is no personal vehicle or pedestrian access to the ship tour area. \n  \nNOTE: Battleship IOWA tours are separate and may be purchased on site or in advance. Current enlisted military and veterans with proof of service are free of charge during Memorial Day weekend.

DESCRIPTION:Come check out San Pedro’s official welcome party to kick off LA Fleet Week 2023! The Swing Band will be performing in San Pedro’s business district between 5:00pm to 6:00pm. The Military band will be following right after that and ending the night off with the band called Midlife Crisis. \nConsisting of approximately 50 Marine musicians\, the mission of the 1st Marine Division Band is to provide musical support to the 1st Marine Division as well as other tenant commands aboard Camp Pendleton\, the surrounding community\, and throughout the United States. The band fulfills numerous musical requirements by performing as a military marching band\, wind ensemble\, jazz band\, popular music group\, jazz combo\, brass band\, woodwind quartet\, brass quintet\, and saxophone quartet. Overall\, the band supports over 400 engagements annually. \n‍San Pedro is home to the world-famous LA Fleet Week and Southern California’s Beginning-of Summer Tradition on Memorial Day! LA Fleet Week® is an annual\, multi-day celebration of our nation’s Sea Services held on the LA Waterfront at the Port of Los Angeles over the extended Memorial Day Weekend. Past events have included active duty ship tours\, military displays and equipment demonstrations\, live entertainment\, aircraft flyovers\, STEM Expo for kids of all ages\, sports tournaments\, and the Galley Wars culinary cook-off competition between Sailor\, Marine & Coastguard teams. Lots of fun for the entire family. And best of all\, entrance is FREE to the general public! The LA Fleet Week Foundation is the 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established to plan and support LA Fleet Week\, Los Angeles’ largest Memorial Day weekend event. LA Fleet Week was created through a unique public-private partnership to connect Southern Californians with the men and women of our United States Sea Services. These connections are facilitated through numerous outreach and engagement opportunities across the region and at a centralized event location on the LA Waterfront at America’s largest port.
