Free parking is available in the lot adjacent to the Navy Memorial site. \nThe program will include: \n\nPatriotic music provided by the Navy Band Southwest Harborside Brass Quintet\nFlyovers with historic aircraft\nDrills by Lakewood High School’s Navy Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps\nAn information fair and activities featuring the Historical Society of Long Beach\, People of the Earth Krew and other local community-based organizations\nA brief program\, starting at 6:45 p.m.\, with guest speakers\, including acclaimed artist Terry Braunstein\, who created Navysphere\, the large public artwork that is the centerpiece of the Navy Memorial\, and keynote speaker Sergeant Major Charles Cook Jr. (US Marine Corps\, retired)\, President of the Los Angeles Chapter of the Montford Point Marines\nAt sunset\, a flag ceremony and the playing of Taps to honor our fallen service members.

DESCRIPTION:Navy Band Southwest’s Ceremonial Band has been the hallmark of military tradition and musical excellence in San Diego since the band’s establishment in 1923. These impressive\, highly polished musicians provide traditional military musical support for Navy commands throughout the Southwestern United States. \nConsisting of 18 to 35 instrumentalists\, the band performs a myriad of musical styles\, from the marches of Henry Fillmore\, Kenneth Alford\, and John Phillip Sousa to the modern compositions of Aaron Copland and John Williams. \nThey’ll be performing in a flag retreat ceremony and a parade at Disneyland this afternoon from 4:30 PM – 5:30 PM.
